Age Matters to Man, But Not to God ~ Blog
Jeremiah 1:7 NKJV
But the Lord said to me: “Do not say, ‘I am a youth,’ For you shall go to all to whom I send you, And whatever I command you, you shall speak.
A very strange thought came to me a few weeks ago, and I immediately got checked on it because of Jeremiah 1:7 that came up in my spirit, reminding me that the institutional church has ALWAYS brushed aside children and the young. Not that there is anything wrong with Sunday School, because certainly there are some who actually teach children how to love Jesus and follow the Holy Spirit, but many of us of the older generation (I am 63 at the writing of this blog) have spent years in church where the children are quite honestly rushed off so that the adults can enjoy the service without the noise or distractions. I too fell into this pit, so I am not pointing fingers here, but as the years have gone by, I have come to realize something mind-blowing to many in the church.
There is no evidence that when a child accepts the Lord and gets filled with the Holy Spirit, they somehow get a smaller version or that they get less than you or I do. Now, I am in no way saying that the older generation is unnecessary. Believing that would be false. As I continue, I will share that God has a divine purpose for each of us no matter our age, but it is my hope that you come out of reading this understanding that it doesn't matter if you are 80 like Moses or if you are 7 years of age like Joash when he became King. God's ways are not our ways, and He does not look at us at all after the flesh (including our age) to determine what He can accomplish through our life and the gifts and callings that He Himself places upon us. I hear the Lord even now saying that He does not want the younger generation to falter by ignoring wise mentoring or leadership, but we, as God's children, must prepare now for what He is doing because He is truly doing a new thing, and yes, they will need mentors and teachers, but they will not be held down like the previous generations.
Isaiah 43:19 NKJV
Behold, I will do a new thing,
Now it shall spring forth;
Shall you not know it?
In the days to come, God will be bringing our Prodigals home. Haven't we all cried out, prayed, and believed for this very thing? Yes, beloved, we have, but even as my husband and I watch the road like the Prodigal father did, I sense a warning with this too, because the days we will be stepping into will be days of great victory. Yes, God will get all of the glory, but we cannot deny that we played a part. Even the people of our Nation will be aware of who stood and who didn't. God will vindicate the truth tellers, and multitudes will know that while they shrank back in fear or unbelief, God had a remnant who was praying, interceding, prophesying, and decreeing what the Lord had given to each of us by His Spirit. There is no way you or I could have known the things that He's revealed to us, but we chose to see light in the darkness and to believe that, just as in the days of Noah when God flooded the earth to remove the evil and wickedness, He was doing it again. Beloved, you and I chose to stand on what the Spirit was saying and not on what the Mainstream Media was propagating, let alone the doom and gloom preachers of the day.
I wholeheartedly believe that in the days, weeks, and months ahead, God will take us from 'oh ye of little faith (when this began around 2020) to being the ecclesia (the called-out ones) who have walked through tests and trials, and He Himself sees each of us as His children chosen for such a time as this, whom He would say have great faith (6 years later), as we read about in Matthew 8:10.
PRODIGALS ARE ON THEIR WAY...
You might be wondering what it was that rose up, and I have attempted to be an open book about my experience being a mom who had 2 of her youngest children walk away on the same night. Here I am, almost 3 years later, still standing and believing for the healing and restoration of my family. In truth, my youngest daughter is now a part of the family again, but there has been no change of heart toward the Lord. We are still the crazy mom and dad who believe in religion (in her estimation), not understanding that we aren't about religion anymore at all, but all about a relationship with the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, and we are too political for her liking. My son, who is 4 years older than her, has decided that he does not need a relationship with us at all, and we haven't seen him in over a year.
I dream of my kids coming home, literally and figuratively. I know they will be home, but the truth is I now realize that unless they know the Lord, it would be too difficult. We cannot be ourselves, and they certainly don't feel they can be themselves around us either. We don't tolerate this demonic culture of abortion, transgenderism, living together outside of marriage, etc. We appear to be what the world calls old-fashioned, but the truth is God is taking us back to being a people who love what He loves and care about what He cares about, and our entire lives are Jesus. My husband and I don't talk about much else. We don't watch much else on TV. We don't listen to secular music or go out often, other than to eat out, and truth be told, we are happier than we've ever been. The divide grew so wide that, in order to keep them in our lives, we were expected to reject Jesus. They may not see it this way, but this is exactly what was expected. I was told that Jesus was more important to me than they were, and I still remember standing up and saying, " That is how it is supposed to be for everyone, but that doesn't mean you don't love your kids, and my son saying, 'see, that's exactly what I mean' as if it somehow made him less important.
MOVING FORWARD...
I am reminded of the story in Matthew 20 called The Parable of the Workers in the Vineyard, and I believe this is going to come into play sooner than we can imagine, and especially with our prodigals. The truth is, we are created, I believe, to desire rewards. It is the one thing that makes us want to live right, do better, and so on. Even God knew that, as we are clearly told in the Word, that we will receive a crown and how very beautiful it is in Heaven as Jesus goes to prepare a place for us. My caution here is that many of us have really been through it the last few years. Waiting, praying, believing, and standing on every word the Father speaks. Feeling like there is delay after delay and watching those around us who don't even seem to know what is going on just live their lives as if nothing is happening. The shock of it all has turned into Stockholm Syndrome.
DEFINITION: Stockholm syndrome is a psychological response in which hostages or abuse victims develop positive feelings, sympathy, or loyalty toward their captors
Our loved ones, who in some cases may even say they are Christians, now have sympathy for the enemy and are loyal to those who are trying to kill them. Even after all these years of exposure, they simply cannot see it. Just like in the book of Acts chapter 19, they have scales over their eyes that must fall, and this is part of our job, beloved. To pray that the scales fall from the eyes of those being led astray.
Getting back to the Parable of the Workers in the Vineyard, we find that they are happily hired to work for a specific wage. Then others are hired later in the day, and more later in the day, and when it comes time to be paid, they are all paid the same amount. This, of course, ruffles the feathers of those who worked an 8-hour day compared to only 1 hour, right? This, I believe, is an area to grow in even now. The Lord has revealed to me by the Spirit that the thief will come immediately. What do I mean by that? I mean your kids, husbands, wives, aunts, uncles, and even mothers and fathers are coming home, and many will take time to soften up and to grow in Christ, but some will not. Some will be spirit-filled right away, get into the Scriptures, and eat them up, and the Lord will help those who truly seek Him to grow exponentially. They will not need seminary, and some will never go to a Bible college, but the Lord will use them, and these same people will become part of that remnant that you and I have been a part of for so many years. Without going through all that we did. Without having to pray and intercede for all the years that we did, and without all the tears that we cried, they will be lifted up by God and used mightily, and we MUST remember the Parable of the Workers in the Vineyard. We cannot allow the thief to come in immediately and to get us into jealousy if their calling or ministry ends up being bigger than our own. This is something I believe the Lord is killing in His church even now.
We must remember that His ways are not our ways. He knows the heart of man; we still too often look upon men and women after the flesh. God sees their kids and grandkids. He knows the end from the beginning. Not to bring up a bad subject, but WHO ON EARTH would have ever thought that Solomon would have ended up falling away from the Lord the way he did, right? Not only did he turn toward other gods, but he also became a Saul, chasing after another who was to be raised up. However, God still kept his promises to David, even after Solomon walked away, and surely his grandson shouldn't have been king, but no, God is faithful through generations, and his grandson still became king, even though he didn't follow the Lord. He did not have the Kingdom that David or Solomon had, but God kept His promise. His promise, beloved, is with you for generations to come, but my point is you don't know what your great-great-grandchildren will be doing, but He already does. When He looks at you, He isn't just seeing you, so when jealousy toward others tries to come in, we must realize that God sees far beyond us to the generations ahead. This is the same thing He did with Noah. He wasn't just a man chosen at random. No, the generations before him walked uprightly before the Lord, and he was even related to the one man who was called a scribe of righteousness. Other than Adam, can we find another man who walked with God as Enoch did?
Genesis 5:24 NKJV
24 And Enoch walked with God; and he was not, for God took him.
Beloved, divine purpose is within every one of us. God told Jeremiah, 'Before I formed you in your mother's womb, I already knew him and called you as a prophet to the nations (Jeremiah 1:5). It was also Jeremiah that He told not to say he was too young.
Age means nothing to God...
- Abraham and Sara having a baby at about 100 is unheard of today, but due to the fact that originally both of them laughed and thought they needed Hagar to have a baby, it was obviously way past childbearing back then as well.
- Moses delivering the children of Israel out of Egypt at the age of 80. Can you imagine an 80-year-old man that you know today confronting a wicked Pharaoh over and over for what was most likely a year or more and then having to lead the way, leading millions of God's children out on foot with kids, animals, etc. for 40 years?
- David taking Goliath down at the age of 15 or 17. There are two different thoughts on this, but either way, Saul's entire army of men over that age were shaking in their boots for 40 days until God sent a young shepherd boy to stand up and fight in the name of the Lord.
- Esther becoming queen sounds so romantic, but the truth is she was probably between the ages of 12-14 when she was abducted from Mordecai's home and taken to the Castle and forced to go through an entire year of treatments before even meeting the King.
- What of Mary? We see movie after movie and read the stories all the time, but Mary was probably between the ages of 14 and 16 when the angel told her that the Holy Spirit would overshadow her and she would become pregnant without being with a man. What an amazing faith and sacrifice she made for all of us, but today we are all pregnant with Jesus. Holy Spirit lives in each one of us.
- Joash was only 7 years old when he became king, and he is credited with restoring the Temple in Jerusalem. He also worked to reestablish proper worship and ensure God was honored. Phenomenal!
A few more names I want to share...
- Daniel ~ 13-17 when taken to Babylon
- Jeremiah ~ 16-20 when the Lord said, Do not say you are too young; you will be My mouthpiece.
- Solomon ~ It appears he may have been 20 when David died and he became King.
- Josiah ~ was 8 when he became king, and he reigned for 31 years, not turning aside from the Lord.
- Manasseh ~ became king at age 12 and reigned for 55 years over the Kingdom of Judah
And who can forget Joseph: The one movies are made of called 'King of Dreams'? He was sold into slavery at the approximate age of 17 by his brothers and was not lifted up by Pharaoh until he was 30 years old. A type and shadow of Jesus beginning His ministry, I am sure, but historical documentation says that he ruled until he died. Joseph died at the age of 110, so that means 80 years.
There are great men and women throughout Scripture of ALL ages who did amazing things not on their own but because God was with them. I just thought of a woman who was at one time barren yet gave birth to a significant man of God late in life. Elizabeth gave birth to John the Baptist, the cousin of Jesus, when she was approximately 60 years old. This too comes from historical and textual clues to us in the Bible, so by no means allow anyone to tell you you are too young or too old to follow the voice of the Lord, or walk in your calling and gifting. Are there training periods? Yes, this is also proven out in Scripture, as we see God separating Saul, who would become Paul, for 11 years before sending him to do the work He was called to. This is why it is so important to be spirit-led and not flesh- or other people-led.
In Closing...
My point of sharing earlier in this blog that we all have a need for rewards, awards, etc., is to say that some of our Prodigals will come home and get right with the Lord, grow exponentially, and step into their callings, and the enemy will try to get us to try to control them. He will attempt to get us into pride because we are the older generation who stood and prayed us all through the mess called The Deep State (the Trump years), and now these newborns are coming in and moving right past us. Beloved, you are needed, and you are necessary. Your giftings are there. You have been called for such a time as this, and God will use each of us to teach, mentor, train, or spiritually parent many, but you must not try to control them because they will go much further than we have, much quicker, with God's supernatural help, and He will not tolerate you or me acting like the same old church that has quashed His plans and His Spirit now for generations. It is the church that must take responsibility for the darkness that we allowed our world to fall into because no one can deny that, at the time of this writing, it has been overtaken by the evil we see present in 2026.
This is the time, and this is the generation that will take out the Giants. We may not see them with our own eyes as they did in Noah or David's day, but today they are Government, Media, Education, Arts & Entertainment, Big Business, and Religion. Yes, I am speaking of those who today have been placed on the Seven Mountains of influence so that they could control our world and all people in all nations. God is even now giving the Seven Mountains back to His true church. The Ecclesia has arisen, and God loves us; He is proud of us, and He will reward us for standing, interceding, and even bringing in the harvest, but we must stand in the armor of God daily even after the big turnaround against that old enemy, who will try to use our need to be rewarded or lifted up somehow as a place to do his best work. Pride was his downfall, so don't let it be yours as well.
Proverbs 16:18
