Check your Filter (Blog)
You must wonder why I am even blogging about a filter. It has come to my attention, and I perceive it to be from the Lord that people are filters and that we must realize this so that we can spiritually discern whether a prophetic voice that we are listening to today is speaking purely from the Holy Spirit rather than from their own flesh or experiences. I don't think there was ever a time that it was more important for us to really hear from the Lord and discern what is of Him and what is not. What happened when Donald Trump supposedly lost to Joe Biden in 2020 should prove that to each of us clearly. For those of us who could see and would not back down on what we believed God was saying and doing we stood on the prophecies that Donald Trump won in 2020.
However, we also watched as many prophetic voices that we had trusted came out saying they were wrong and that they must have missed it because they went with the fake narrative that DJT had not won and so rather than sticking with what they'd heard from the Lord many repented publicly which brought even more confusion into the body of Christ. In fact, I distinctly remember a phone conversation that I overheard with my husband speaking to someone who refused to believe what we knew and what we were saying. They went as far as to bring up Jeremiah Johnson as if he was the only prophet out there who had prophesied that Trump would win and then when he didn't, he came out apologizing for ever saying he would.
The truth is Jeremiah Johnson had a dream, and the Lord clearly showed him that Donald Trump would win, but when the pressure came on, he backed away as if he'd missed it. Of course, all these years later the American people are finding the election fraud that Donald Trump told us about and in some cases the elections in certain states have already been proven to be falsified. In this situation I believe Jeremiah Johnson was a filter. His back off of what he knew the Lord was showing him was not filtered through the Holy Spirit but through his flesh and his mind. We were greatly deceived and that 2020 election was stolen not only from Donald Trump but countless others on the down ballot. This is only my opinion, but I believe it is clear that Jeremiah Johnson became more concerned about what man was saying rather than standing as did prophetic voices like Hank Kunneman, Joseph Z, Julie Green and many more. Don't get me wrong. I can see that God speaks through Jeremiah Johnson and he has been very on target, but what we must learn is not to back off no matter what the situation or circumstances are telling us.
What does a filter do in general?
The Definition of a Filter
A filter is a device or medium designed to remove unwanted particles, substances, or signals from a system. It allows only the desired components to pass through while blocking or trapping the rest.
What does a filter do working through a person?
Actually, I believe Samuel the prophet was a good example. He was certainly one whose life and dedication to the Lord would be a good filter. He was completely dedicated to the Lord from his birth and served Him well, but he was still a man.
1 Samuel 3:19 NIV
The Lord was with Samuel as he grew up, and he let none of Samuel’s words fall to the ground.
Scripture tells us that Samuel's words did not fall to the ground, but I believe his experiences as a man did become a filter in his life. When God sent Samuel to Jesse's house to anoint a new King he was not seeing in the Spirit. He obeyed the Lord but went with preconceived ideas of what or who God would choose. He was not told by God which son to anoint or whom He'd chosen so he tried to anoint each one starting with the oldest, but the oil would not flow.
So where do I see the filter? The preconceived idea of who God would choose. In fact, he even had a previous experience because when Irael cried out for a King God chose Saul who we are told was handsome and taller than anyone else.
1 Samuel 9:2 NIV
Kish had a son named Saul, as handsome a young man as could be found anywhere in Israel, and he was a head taller than anyone else.
In Samuels mind I'm sure he thought a King had to be tall as if height made someone kingly. Because of this experience and what he'd previously seen the Lord do when he went to Jesse's house to anoint a new king his previous experience became a filter for who he thought God would choose out of Jesse's sons. Surely it was the oldest or the tallest or the best looking.
1 Samuel 16:7 NIV
7 But the Lord said to Samuel, “Do not consider his appearance or his height, for I have rejected him. The Lord does not look at the things people look at. People look at the outward appearance, but the Lord looks at the heart.”
Just as Jesse thought it wouldn't be the runt of the family and went to the oldest first, he simply did not consider that it could be the youngest who simply worked out in the back fields tending to the family's sheep. Was that even kingly material?
I like to imagine how Samuel felt as he went one by one and the oil wouldn't flow. He must have been a bit frustrated thinking, "Wait a minute God, You sent me here and not one of Jesse's sons seems to be the one." I've seen movies on the choosing of David and I love it when they show Samuel laughing as he realizes that God chose the one no one else would choose.
1 Samuel 16:12b - 13 NIV
Then the Lord said, “Rise and anoint him; this is the one.”
13 So Samuel took the horn of oil and anointed him in the presence of his brothers, and from that day on the Spirit of the Lord came powerfully upon David.
Because of Samuels previous experience with the Lord to his surprise God went from choosing the tallest and the best looking to choosing a young man who was not yet ready to be king. When God stripped the Kingdom from Saul Samuel thought it would happen immediately. Isn't this the same thing that we do today with prophecy? We expect things immediately as if we are at a McDonald's drive through. God ALWAYS takes time because He works through people and ALL people are filters.

Today more than ever before we must pay attention to what we are hearing ourselves as well as what we are hearing through the prophetic voices that we have come to trust. We have scripture that clearly tells us to test every spirit.
1 John 4:1-3 NIV
Dear friends, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits to see whether they are from God, because many false prophets have gone out into the world. This is how you can recognize the Spirit of God: Every spirit that acknowledges that Jesus Christ has come in the flesh is from God, but every spirit that does not acknowledge Jesus is not from God. This is the spirit of the antichrist, which you have heard is coming and even now is already in the world.
Through the years some of you through my Newsletters may have noticed that I have stopped sharing from many prophets or prophetic voices. Can they miss it? Yes, I am not a perfectionist. I realize God uses vessels that we might not ever choose ourselves but when you begin to see a pattern of someone missing what the Lord has already confirmed to you personally or if you find that they are critical of others, bashing others or not living as unto the Lord you really have to make a decision to follow the Spirit rather than your own likes or dislikes because in this very critical hour we must all be careful not to allow ourselves to be led astray or away from what God is truly saying.
I bless you all and will end with this very important scripture.
Romans 8:5 NIV
Those who live according to the flesh have their minds set on what the flesh desires; but those who live in accordance with the Spirit have their minds set on what the Spirit desires.
