UNPREDICTABLE ~ Blog

Other than love, you really cannot predict what the Holy Spirit will do in any given situation. You can know that it will work together for good, but things will happen around you that are very unusual and completely unpredictable. As I sat with the Lord and meditated on the word unpredictable I thought I would share the definition.

"Unpredictable" means not able to be predicted, known, or planned in advance, often because it changes suddenly or without reason.

Could anyone have predicted that...

  • The Red Sea would open, allowing the Israelites to pass through on dry ground but close up and take out their enemies? No...
  • A man who seemed absolutely crazy for 100 years, building a huge boat when, at that time, the world had never seen or experienced rain, yet he and his family were the only ones who survived the flood that was told to them was coming.
  • While an entire army stood back in terror that God would use a 17-year-old boy to cut the head off of a Giant?
  • That walking around the walls of a city called Jericho would actually bring the walls down.
  • That gallows would be built to exterminate the Jews but would be turned in one day and would be used to hang the very person who plotted and planned it instead.
  • What about the multiplication of food or the miraculous healings that they saw?
  • That Jesus would stay behind, telling them to go, and then come to them in the night, walking on water.
  • That the enemy's plan to destroy Jesus on the Cross would have the complete opposite effect, and God would resurrect His Son to life to destroy the grip that sin & death had over each one of us?
  • That God would never leave us or forsake us and planned all along to send the Ruach (Holy Spirit), which means spirit, breath, or wind? When Jesus ascended, God sent the Holy Spirit, and He would become our helper, teacher, and eternal connection to our Father, the Creator of Heaven and Earth.
I'm sure I could think of many more things to share here that were unpredictable. You've probably thought of a few yourself, but we must understand that Holy Spirit will never be predictable, even in our lives. He is a suddenly. When you need Him to open the waters or to allow you to walk on it, those around you won't be able to predict what happens next. Therefore, if you are predictable, you might want to sit with the Father and ask for the infilling of the Holy Spirit because although it may be true that once saved you are given the Holy Spirit, Scripture tells us that He must be activated. There are countless scriptures that tell of the Spirit coming down or coming upon, resting on, and indwelling.

It is long past time the body of Christ realizes God has so much more for them. Religion kills, and the Spirit gives LIFE. If you are truly being Spirit-led, you will live a life of unpredictable suddenlies. Your life will be filled with joy, goodness, health and wholeness, prosperity and favor, and it will all be unpredictable.

I will say it again, the only thing you can predict is that God loves you and will move out of love for you. He has a future and a hope for you if you will put yourself in His hands. Let God open up a sea so that you can cross on dry ground. Allow Jesus to show up anywhere, even if He has to show up walking on water.

Stop trying to keep God in a box, thinking you know everything that He will say or do because that is impossible. He is still doing unpredictable things to this day. Wake up daily expecting the unexpected, and that is what you will get.

Why do we give God all the glory? Because with Him all things are possible. But the impossible comes by believing it will, looking for it, and praying for it. Remember that faith is the substance. What is substance?

Substance Definition...
The real physical matter of which a person or thing consists and which has a tangible, solid presence:

Beloved, without faith it is impossible to please Him, so use your faith to always expect the unexpected and let God be who He is in your life. He wants to be Unpredictable...
